Forensic Pathology Services

The Sacramento County Coroner in California is seeking professional forensic pathology services to assist in determining the cause and manner of death for cases falling under its jurisdiction. The agency requires these services to fulfill its statutory duties through forensic examinations, autopsies, consultation, reporting, and expert testimony. The selected provider will perform medicolegal autopsies and external examinations to resolve these investigations. The scope of work covers reviewing and evaluating investigative reports, medical records, toxicology results, laboratory findings, radiology studies, photographs, and other relevant evidence. The provider must consult with coroner personnel regarding death investigations and forensic findings. Additionally, the agency requires consultation with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, public health agencies, defense counsel, and other authorized entities as requested by the county. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency permits the performance of the work to be conducted offsite. The county is looking for proposals to determine the budget for these services, and all questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted no later than June 18, 2026.
