Physician and Medical Director Services

The government authority located in Kosciusko, Mississippi is seeking a contractor to provide physician and medical director services for its Home facility. The agency requires these services to ensure comprehensive, ongoing medical care, timely assessments, and regulatory compliance for all residents. Performance of all contracted work must take place onsite at the facility. The medical director scope of work includes examining applicants for admission, providing timely medical assessments and care plans for newly admitted residents, and performing physical examinations upon admission. The medical director must also perform annual physicals, conduct more frequent medical evaluations when indicated, review laboratory results, certify admissions, transfers, and discharges, and arrange for alternative coverage when physicians are unavailable. Additionally, this role requires active participation in the discharge planning process and the provision of timely discharge summaries. The physician scope of work requires providing primary medical services, prescribing medications and refills, and performing medical reviews of residents at least once every thirty days for the first ninety days, and every sixty days thereafter. The physician may utilize a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, provided they ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. The physician must also prepare recommendations for the medical director regarding the short-range and long-range medical programs of the Home. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for these services.
