Cambus Computer Aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location System

The University of Iowa Cambus transit system is seeking a vendor to provide a Computer-Aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location system. The requested solution must serve dispatchers, operators, supervisors, and administrative users while integrating with current integration centers and feeding data into the existing rider-facing application. The scope of work requires real-time vehicle tracking using GPS with frequent refresh intervals and automated dispatch functionality for route, vehicle, and operator management. The system must feature a web-based user interface for dispatchers, supervisors, and administrators, alongside software for operator-facing mobile devices or tablets displaying route assignments and real-time schedule adherence. Additionally, the platform must provide data reporting and analytics tools for ridership, on-time performance, vehicle history, and National Transit Database reporting, while allowing staff to adjust route alignments for permanent changes or temporary detours. The agency requires the system to incorporate an operator panic button that covertly alerts dispatch to safety or security threats. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations, and the performance of all work will take place offsite.
