Ecological Survey Service

The Town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, is seeking a vendor to provide ecological survey services to assist with the implementation of plans for an updated survey of the agency's fish and shellfish habitat. The agency needs to solve the problem of assessing ecological changes over time by comparing new data with past harbor surveys. The scope of work covers survey design, sampling methods, and data analysis to understand the relationships between fish and shellfish species and their habitats. The project requires sampling at intertidal and subtidal locations, focusing primarily on a subset of stations sampled in previous harbor surveys. Bidders must plan for specific sampling gears, including seines, trawls, and benthic sampling tools, based on specifications found in cited literature. The agency expects shore- and vessel-based sampling to require two to three personnel to transport gear, set and haul gear, process catches, and record data. Eligibility is restricted to onshore, United States organizations only. The selected vendor must perform all work onsite in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
