Inmate Medical Services

The Osceola County government authority located in Reed, Michigan is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive inmate medical services. The agency requires a partner to manage on-site healthcare operations while solving the administrative and clinical challenges of correctional medicine. The scope of work includes providing forty hours per week of on-site Registered Nurse services, along with a structured plan to reconcile any hours worked over or under the contracted amount. The selected vendor must develop and implement an inmate co-pay system for medical requests as permitted by law, and provide dental hygiene instruction to the inmate population. For emergency situations, the vendor's on-site medical staff must treat not only inmates but also facility staff, subcontractors, and visitors who become ill or injured on the premises. The agency will retain responsibility for the provision and cost of biomedical waste disposal services for the facility's medical unit. The scope excludes elective care and limits the vendor's responsibility for medical supplies to disposable, one-time-use items, excluding durable or reusable equipment. Additionally, the vendor must handle the re-pricing of medical claims by calculating applicable discounts and confirming claim integrity prior to payment. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States, and the administrative portions of the work must be performed offsite at the vendor's own office premises.
