Fiber Optic Pigtail and Patch Cable Service

The City of Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a vendor to provide fiber optic pigtail and patch cable services. The agency requires these factory-terminated and pre-tested assemblies to support its traffic control cabinets and roadside intelligent transportation systems (ITS) environments. By procuring pre-terminated assemblies, the agency aims to eliminate the need for on-site fiber termination or polishing during installation. The scope of work covers two primary types of assemblies. The first is a 12-fiber, 6-step configuration patch assembly designed for compact, zero rack unit (0 RU) installations in traffic signal cabinets. This assembly must feature single-mode OS2 fiber, a loose-tube indoor/outdoor flame-retardant jacket, a factory-terminated pigtail on the network side, and an operating temperature range of –40°C to +70°C. The second required item is a wide-body fiber optic patch assembly designed for higher fiber density and cabinet-side mounting. This assembly must support a minimum of 24 single-mode OS2 fibers, feature an LC duplex connector interface on the equipment side, and utilize a flame-retardant loose-tube cable. All fibers in this wide-body configuration must be factory-terminated, factory-tested, and labeled. The agency is limiting eligibility to onshore vendors located in the United States. The selected vendor will perform all fabrication and testing offsite before delivery. The resulting contract will run for a period of one year.
