Security Guard Services

The University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut is seeking a qualified vendor to provide reliable, professional, and consistent security guard services. The agency needs to protect museum collections, facilities, staff, and visitors while maintaining a safe and welcoming public environment. The selected provider must possess the capability to train security personnel in industry-recognized practices relevant to museum security services. The scope of work requires providing one uniformed security guard during standard operating hours, with additional coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as needed. Guard responsibilities include monitoring galleries, entrances, and public areas, conducting routine patrols, and monitoring security systems such as CCTV and intrusion detection systems. Personnel must observe visitor activity, ensure compliance with museum policies, respond to incidents, coordinate with emergency services, and maintain daily logs and incident reports. Bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States, and all contracted work must be performed onsite at the Storrs campus. The agency is seeking budget proposals from bidders to establish a contract period of three years. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for July 9, 2026, and the agency requires all questions to be submitted no later than July 15, 2026.
