RFI for Regulatory Platform Modernization

The Alberta Energy Regulator is seeking information from Canadian organizations to design and build a modular, agency-owned Regulatory Capability Platform. This modernized platform will progressively replace the agency's current regulatory systems and establish a strong data foundation. The agency needs to solve the challenges of fragmented point-to-point integrations and unmanaged unstructured data. The scope of work covers two primary areas, starting with platform architecture and build. This requires creating an integration layer with documented APIs that can absorb Government of Alberta system transitions. The second area is a data foundation framework to manage, classify, search, and exploit unstructured data alongside structured data within a governed data estate. Eligible respondents must be onshore organizations based in Canada. The agency expects the performance of the work to take place offsite. While the agency is looking for budget proposals within the responses, it has not signaled a specific budget limit. Interested parties must submit all questions regarding this request for information no later than July 6, 2026.
