Consulting Services for Campus Wayfinding Program

Okanagan College is seeking professional consulting services for the planning, design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive campus wayfinding program. The college needs to address existing gaps in campus navigation by conducting a thorough review and assessment of current circulation, access routes, parking, pedestrian pathways, and building entrances. This initiative aims to establish a cohesive, scalable signage system that improves navigation across all college campuses. The scope of work requires the selected consultant to perform strategic planning, which includes conducting a gap analysis and chairing meetings and stakeholder workshops throughout the project. The consultant must coordinate with the college, the prime consultant, an accessibility consultant retained for the Centre for Food, Wine & Tourism project currently under construction, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the work involves coordinating life safety and occupancy-related signage requirements where applicable. Design services within the scope include developing scalable signage standards, a signage hierarchy, nomenclature, numbering standards, and messaging strategies. The project covers the design of vehicular and pedestrian directional signage, as well as the preparation of concept designs, design development documentation, and tender-ready documentation. All work will be performed offsite. Eligibility is limited to onshore organizations based in Canada. The college is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project.
