RFI for Crib Automation Tool

The issuing agency is seeking information on automated solutions capable of managing a secured, unmanned tool crib to enhance tracking, access control, and accountability for operational tools across its facilities. This initiative aims to solve the challenges of tracking and standardizing operational tools, including larger hand tools, batteries, power tools, and generators, most of which possess identifiable serial numbers. The agency requires an automated solution that provides controlled access, automated check-in and check-out, real-time inventory visibility, improved tool availability, and support for calibration management. The scope of work covers a tool crib that will remain unmanned, featuring controlled access for approximately thirty to fifty authorized personnel. This system must integrate with the agency's existing electronic access control system. The performance of the work will take place offsite. Eligibility is limited to onshore organizations based in Canada. Bidders must submit any questions regarding this request for information no later than July 7, 2026. Responses may be submitted digitally via email or through an online portal. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project.
