Armed Security Guard Services

The government authority located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana requires the services of one uniformed, armed security officer to maintain control of visitors and vendors. The officer must secure the post Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., while the building itself is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Contractors must provide a telephone number where a manager can be reached twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty-five days a year. The agency requires guards to maintain a professional appearance, which includes wearing proper alterations, uniform belts, and appropriate shoes. Guards must not report to duty in a combination of uniform and civilian clothing, or with torn, frayed, or unhemmed trousers. Officers must carry a standard regulation weapon on their person upon arrival and keep miscellaneous equipment, such as incident report forms and daily logs, available at the security desk. Permitted weapons under the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners regulations include a thirty-eight revolver, a three hundred fifty-seven revolver, a nine-millimeter semi-automatic, a forty semi-automatic, or a forty-five semi-automatic. The contract period will run for one year, and the performance of all work must take place onsite. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States, and the agency is currently seeking proposals to determine the budget.
