Residential Waste Cart Services

The Lake County government authority in Tavares, Florida is seeking a contractor to provide residential waste cart services. The agency needs to solve the logistical challenges of delivering, removing, assembling, and disposing of residential waste carts. The selected contractor will determine the daily schedule for cart handling and must document all arrivals, deliveries, and removals with photographs. The scope of work covers the disposal, recycling, or repurposing of old carts, including coordinating with the agency's designated solid waste hauler. Old bear carts must be delivered to a designated area at the Central Facility in Tavares, while the agency prefers that other rejected carts go to a recycling facility with documented tonnages. If repurposing or recycling is impossible, the contractor will dispose of the carts at the Central Facility. Additionally, the contractor may be required to assemble new County-supplied carts using contractor-provided tools in a designated County storage area. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States, and the performance of the work will take place offsite. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for these services. The contract period will span one year, and bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than July 22, 2026.
