Locum Tenens Services

The San Diego County behavioral health services authority is seeking a vendor to provide locum tenens services at county-operated behavioral health facilities. The agency needs adult psychiatrists, internal medicine physicians, family medicine physicians, and advanced practice professionals to deliver medical and psychiatric care. Through these services, the agency aims to reduce patients' debilitating symptoms, maintain safety, reduce recidivism, increase life and community living skills, and successfully return patients to the community. The requested scope of work covers initial psychiatric or medical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency medication orders. Contracted professionals must also handle medication evaluation and management, prescribing, consultation with multidisciplinary staff, and participation in treatment team meetings and discharge planning. The agency requires the performance of this work to be conducted offsite. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency is looking for budget proposals from bidders rather than providing a set budget limit. Bidders can submit their responses digitally via email or online. The agency will hold a pre-bid meeting on July 9, 2026, to discuss the opportunity. Bidders must submit all questions regarding the solicitation no later than July 16, 2026. The resulting contract period will run for one year.
