Medical Service Provisions for Arrestees

The City of Santa Monica, California, requires a vendor to provide comprehensive medical service provisions for arrestees. The agency needs to ensure that arrestees are healthy enough to be discharged to the city's police department for booking and housing in the city jail. To solve this, the selected provider must perform medical screening evaluations on arrestees prior to their detention. The scope of work also covers performing blood withdrawals in a medically approved manner for driving under the influence (DUI) investigations, DUI saturation operations, and DUI checkpoints. Additionally, the agency requires the administration and management of the police department's nasal program. The provider must deliver as-needed testing services for reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol cases in conformity with city policies, as well as testing and counseling for occupational exposures to communicable diseases.
