Grant Funded School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician Services

The Des Moines, Iowa government authority is seeking a vendor to provide grant-funded, school-based behavioral health clinician services. The agency needs to address the mental and behavioral health needs of students by placing clinicians directly within assigned school buildings during the standard school day and calendar. This initiative aims to solve the problem of limited student access to mental health support by integrating therapeutic services directly into the educational environment. The scope of work requires clinicians to maintain an active therapeutic caseload of approximately twenty students for weekly or bi-weekly individual and family therapy, with adjustments based on student acuity. Clinicians must provide evidence-based diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, and group interventions. The selected provider must also maintain all required clinical documentation, communicate regularly with parents or legal guardians, and support school-based crisis response, suicide risk assessments, and behavioral health referral pathways. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. Although the services are school-based, the agency notes that performance of the work will be offsite with the vendor carrying out work in their office premises. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget, and all questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted no later than July 8, 2026.
