Jail Air Handler-Fire Suppression System Removal, Replacement and Upgrade Services

The agency is seeking services for the removal, replacement, and upgrade of jail air handler and fire suppression systems at the Volusia County Branch Jail in DeLand, Florida. The project requires the removal of existing fire/smoke dampers in rated fire partitions, rated shaft walls, and floor/slab penetrations. It also involves disconnecting and properly handling control wiring, installing new 1-1/2 hour rated fire/smoke dampers constructed of stainless steel or aluminum with urethane bushings, and reconnecting or replacing control wiring. Bidders must be an onshore USA organization. The performance of the work will be offsite. All questions must be submitted no later than August 6, 2026. The scope of work includes the removal of all existing fire/smoke dampers in 1-hour and 2-hour rated fire partitions, rated shaft walls, and floor/slab penetrations. Control wiring at relay panels must be disconnected and handled properly per coded notes on construction drawings. New 1-1/2 hour rated fire/smoke dampers that match existing duct sizes will be installed. These new dampers must be constructed of stainless steel or aluminum with urethane bushings for corrosion resistance and durability in a correctional facility environment. New smoke dampers will be 24VAC motorized units for shaft enclosures and slab penetrations, while new fire dampers for wall-mounted and partition locations will have 165°F fusible links. Existing wall-mounted air grilles at applicable damper locations will be reinstalled. The agency requires bidders to be an onshore USA organization. The performance of the work will be offsite.
