Food Services

The agency is seeking food services for the Pierce County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center located in Tacoma, WA. The agency aims to operate its food service program ethically and humanely, ensuring the rights of those served are respected. This project covers providing daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at both facilities. The scope of work includes developing and implementing a food service plan with clear objectives, policies, and procedures. The contractor must operate a kitchen staffed by properly licensed, certified, and permitted food service professionals. A cooperative relationship with the administration and staff of both locations is also required. Bidders must be an onshore USA organization only. The agency requires a moderate background check and clearance for access and work on county properties. For areas where criminal justice information is kept, including Sheriff's offices, a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check and online certification training are necessary. Work in detention areas requires a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) mandated Jail Entry Background Check and training. All contractor personnel must wear a visible Pierce County-issued identification badge indicating their clearance level. The agency is looking for proposals and has not specified a budget.
