Emergency Food Assistance Program and Fresh Produce Initiative Services

The New Mexico Health Care Authority requests proposals from Regional Emergency Feeding Organizations to provide regional administration for receiving, storing, and delivering United States Department of Agriculture commodity foods to local emergency feeding organizations. Selected organizations will distribute these foods to eligible households and homeless shelters across New Mexico. The buyer also provides state funds to Regional Emergency Feeding Organizations to purchase, package, and ship fresh produce and other food items to food distribution sites across all 33 New Mexico counties, serving low-income residents. Contractors must perform the work onsite in the United States and comply with state and federal regulations per 7 CFR 247, 250, and 251. The buyer requires vendors to submit proposals for the budget.
