Description
AI GeneratedNASA/NSSC requires detailed analysis of wind tunnel force, moment, and pressure measurements for the Common Research Model (CRM) to support computational fluid dynamics validations. The selected contractor must perform wind-tunnel corrections using the Transonic Wall Interference Correction System and conduct an attachment-line flow transition and relaminarization study. NASA/NSSC intends to award a sole-source contract to the University of California, Davis, with performance located in Davis, California, from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027. Other interested organizations may submit written capability statements to demonstrate their qualifications to perform the effort by 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on October 12, 2026.

- Quantify sensitivity of corrected forces and moments to model size, tunnel environment, and Reynolds-number scaling
- Produce corrected aerodynamic coefficients suitable for comparison with DPW/HLPW datasets
- Compute attachment-line Reynolds number R2 using CRM surface-pressure distributions
- Determine laminar, transitional, or turbulent state using criteria from Gaster, Pfenninger, and Poll
- Investigate presence and likelihood of relaminarization under favorable pressure gradients at high-lift conditions
- Compare observed CRM-HL behaviors to historical evidence of relaminarization in wind-tunnel and flight tests
