Water and Sewer Engineer Service

The Township of Florence seeks a qualified firm or individual to serve as the Township Water and Sewer Engineer for a one-year term. The selected engineer will perform onsite water and wastewater engineering, covering infrastructure GIS mapping, plant construction, collection and distribution systems, controls, elevated tanks, sludge dewatering, odor controls, and state and federal permit compliance. Eligible candidates must be onshore US entities whose appointed individual is a licensed New Jersey engineer with at least 10 years of experience in water and wastewater fields. The candidate's multi-disciplined firm must possess at least 20 years of relevant engineering experience and maintain staff with licenses meeting or exceeding the Township's current utility classifications (S3, W2, T2, C2). Applicants must submit one thumb drive containing PDF files and six original paper copies in a sealed envelope to the Township Clerk by 10:00 AM on November 12, 2026. Submissions must include explanations of qualifications, proposed fees, at least three local government references, an identified primary engineer, a Business Registration Certificate, an Affirmative Action Certificate of Employee Information Reporting, a Certificate of Insurance, and a Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran. RFQs determine overall qualification, while RFPs evaluate whether proposed fees are fair, reasonable, and aligned with market rates and candidate expertise.
