Residential Refuse and Recyclable Materials Collection Services

The Montgomery County government authority in Maryland is seeking a contractor to provide residential refuse and recyclable materials collection services. The agency is trying to ensure safe, efficient, and comprehensive waste management for its residents through specialized collection operations. The contract period will run for one year. The scope of work requires the provision of specific collection vehicles, including split-body, low-entry rear load vehicles for recycling collection, low-entry rear load vehicles for refuse collection, and low-entry rear load vehicles for yard trim collection. The agency also requires stake body trucks for scrap metal, e-waste, and household battery collection. Additionally, the project covers non-CDL twelve-cubic-yard rear load vehicles for commingled materials recycling collection and low-entry rear load vehicles for paper recycling collection. All collection vehicles, including those owned by subcontractors, must feature functioning GPS units and cameras installed on the front, rear, sides, and interior. The agency requires this equipment to monitor driver and helper safety, prevent pedestrian incidents, and resolve service-related complaints. The performance of all contracted work will take place offsite. Eligible bidders must operate onshore within the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for these services. The agency will host a pre-bid meeting on June 4, 2026.
