Food Scrap Hauling and Disposal Services

The Town of Southbury, Connecticut, is seeking a vendor to provide food scrap hauling and disposal services from its solid waste transfer station. The agency requires the transport of collected organic material to designated disposal sites and the subsequent drop-off at those locations. The material to be hauled consists of fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, dairy products, bread, pasta, rice, grains, egg shells, chips, snacks, nuts, seeds, leftover food, spoiled food, expired food, coffee grounds, paper filters, tea bags, paper towels, napkins, flower bouquets, and BPI-certified compostable bags. The agency limits eligibility to onshore organizations based in the United States. The selected vendor must perform the work onsite at the designated transfer station and disposal locations. Bidders must submit their proposals digitally via email or through the online portal, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget. The agency requires all questions regarding this opportunity to be submitted no later than June 7, 2026.
