Residential Refuse and Recyclable Materials Collection Services

The Montgomery County government authority in Maryland is seeking a contractor to provide residential refuse and recyclable materials collection services. The agency is trying to solve its waste management needs by securing a comprehensive fleet of collection vehicles to service the local community. The contract period will run for one year. The scope of work covers the provision of specific collection vehicles, including split-body, low-entry rear load vehicles for recycling collection, and low-entry rear load vehicles for refuse and yard trim collection. The agency also requires stake body trucks for scrap metal, e-waste, and household battery collection. Additionally, the contractor must provide non-CDL twelve-cubic-yard rear load vehicles for commingled materials recycling collection and low-entry rear load vehicles for paper recycling collection. All collection vehicles, including those from subcontractors, must be equipped with functioning GPS units and cameras. These cameras must cover the front, rear, sides, and interior of the vehicles to monitor driver and helper safety, prevent pedestrian incidents, and resolve service-related complaints. The performance of all requested work must occur offsite. Bidders must perform all work onshore within the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2026.
