Scrap Metal Recycling Services

The Lexington County government authority in South Carolina is seeking a vendor to provide scrap metal recycling services at the county landfill. The agency requires these services on an as-needed basis, determined by the volume of material collected at the site. The selected vendor must resolve the agency's need for the proper processing, packaging, and transportation of white goods and miscellaneous scrap metal from the landfill to the vendor's offsite recycling facility. The scope of work covers the provision of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to handle the scrap metal and white goods, including items containing refrigerant such as refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. The agency also requires the vendor to manage debris or other non-recyclable materials that are mixed in with the scrap metal. Additionally, the vendor must provide scrap metal and white goods recycling data in an electronic format to meet the county's monthly and annual reporting requirements. This data must include metal gross weight, container tare weight, net weight, the number of monthly loads received, and documentation of proper disposal for special waste. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States, and the performance of the recycling work will take place offsite at the vendor's facility.
