Solid Waste Collection Services

The City of Kodiak, Alaska is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive solid waste collection services. The agency requires a system that utilizes automated or semi-automated collection methods to serve residential, multipurpose, and commercial customers. This initiative aims to establish a structured waste management program that clearly defines service frequencies, container types, and subscription rates for each customer class. The scope of work covers a variety of container service options including self-haul, refuse carts, front-load dumpsters, roll-off containers, and compactors. The selected contractor must provide a front-door service option specifically for senior or disabled customers who require assistance. Additionally, the project requires public access residential roll-offs for self-haul services that must be tipped at regular intervals, as well as sole-purpose dumpsters for construction contractors to separate waste streams. Commercial customers must be permitted to use their own containers to avoid rental fees. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The contractor will perform the work offsite in the Kodiak, Alaska service area. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and will award a contract with a performance period of five years.
