Water Distribution System

The City of Winston-Salem, North Carolina requires a vendor to install a comprehensive water distribution system across residential, downtown, and rural areas. The agency is attempting to expand and upgrade its water infrastructure by installing approximately 60 linear feet of 4-inch waterline, 650 linear feet of 6-inch waterline, and 5,640 linear feet of 8-inch waterline in residential neighborhoods and downtown corridors, which includes two segments installed via bore and jack methods. Additionally, the project requires the installation of approximately 3,530 linear feet of 12-inch waterline along a rural highway, including one segment installed by bore and jack methods. The scope of work also entails installing thirteen owner-provided sampling stations and six owner-provided automatic flushing devices. The selected vendor must remove an existing valve vault, reconfigure the waterline piping, manage traffic control, and perform site restoration. While the physical installation occurs in Winston-Salem, the agency specifies that the performance of the work will be offsite, requiring the vendor to carry out work from their own office location. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency is currently looking for proposals and has not disclosed a specific budget. A non-mandatory virtual pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 20, 2026.
