Water Distribution System

The City of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is seeking a vendor to install a comprehensive water distribution system to improve utility infrastructure in residential, downtown, and rural areas. The agency is trying to address water distribution needs by expanding and upgrading its pipeline network through targeted installations and system reconfigurations. The scope of work covers the installation of approximately sixty linear feet of four-inch waterline, six hundred and fifty linear feet of six-inch waterline, and five thousand six hundred and forty linear feet of eight-inch waterline in residential neighborhoods and downtown corridors, which includes two segments installed by bore and jack methods. The project also requires the installation of approximately three thousand five hundred and thirty linear feet of twelve-inch waterline along a rural highway, including one segment installed by bore and jack methods. Additionally, the agency requires the installation of thirteen owner-provided sampling stations, six owner-provided automatic flushing devices, the removal of a valve vault, and the reconfiguration of waterline piping. The selected vendor must also perform traffic control, site restoration, and all related work. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based solely in the United States. Although the physical water distribution system installations are located in Winston-Salem, the agency specifies that the performance of the work will be offsite and the vendor must carry out work in their own office location. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget for this project. A non-mandatory virtual pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 20, 2026.
