Remove, Destroy and Dispose of an Excavator Service

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is seeking a contractor to remove, destroy, and dispose of an excavator located in West Columbia, South Carolina. The agency requires the complete removal of all pieces and parts of the excavator to ensure safe transport to a drydock. Once the excavator arrives at the drydock, the contractor must handle its complete demolition and disposal. The scope of work requires the contractor to provide a tug and/or cranes capable of removing the excavator in whole or in pieces. If necessary, the contractor must provide a fully insured commercial dive company that complies with all OSHA standards. The performance of this work will take place offsite over a contract period of one year. Eligible bidders must be onshore entities based in the United States. Bidders must hold a General Marine Liability Insurance Policy of no less than five million dollars, a US Longshoreman and Harbor Masters Policy, and a Property and Indemnity Policy that covers the crew. The Property and Indemnity Policy must also include Jones Act coverage for the crew, wreck removal, and tower's liability. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project. All questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted no later than June 23, 2026.
