Assessing and Managing Manganese Behavior Service

The Water Research Foundation requires a contractor to assess and manage manganese behavior in drinking water distribution and premise plumbing systems. The selected vendor must characterize the spatial and temporal variability of manganese concentrations and speciation, investigate its interactions with water chemistry and corrosion control treatments, evaluate stability and release mechanisms, assess mitigation and operational strategies, and recommend monitoring strategies. Only USA-based onshore organizations are eligible to bid, though entities with overdue deliverables on active WRF studies without approved extensions cannot participate. Proposers must submit applications digitally through the WRF Portal by 3:00 pm Mountain Time on October 26, 2026. Evaluators will score proposals using five criteria: understanding the problem and responsiveness (20 points), technical and scientific merit (30 points), qualifications, capabilities, and management (20 points), communication plan and deliverables (15 points), and budget and schedule (15 points).
