RFI for Food Waste Recycling and Recovery Services

Salt Lake City Corporation is issuing a Request for Information to identify vendors, suppliers, agencies, and non-profit organizations that provide food waste recycling or food recovery services within city boundaries. The city seeks to understand available resources, capabilities, best practices, and processes to inform future plans and expand services to support its goal of zero waste by 2040. Eligible respondents include onshore USA entities, such as non-profits and Utah-licensed businesses. Applicants must submit business information, process details, offering inclusions and exclusions, customer education materials, and strategies addressing environmental transportation impacts. All submissions must be uploaded electronically as a single file through the Utah Public Procurement Place website before 12:00 p.m. on October 16, 2026, and questions should be directed to the platform's Question and Answer Board. The city will not evaluate proposals for contract awards or issue contracts as a direct result of this request.
