AI Communities Leading Service

Humanity AI seeks U.S.-based community-led initiatives for a $10 million Open Call to shape how artificial intelligence is built, governed, and used across education, labor and economy, and creative work. Lead organizations must have 501(c)(3) status and focus their proposed work on U.S.-based communities, while all performance will take place offsite. Applicants must submit initial proposals digitally online or via email by 4:59 p.m. PT / 7:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Reviewers evaluate eligible applications using five criteria, including Credibility and Experience, with priority consideration given to open-weight or open-source AI projects. Top-rated applicants will become finalists invited to submit additional materials, such as a budget and measurement plan, before selection.
