The Town of Newport, New York, requires a grant writer to prepare a competitive application for the Herkimer-Oneida Counties Transportation Council’s Local Bridge Preliminary Engineering Program. The selected vendor will perform offsite work, including project coordination, town record review, preliminary engineering cost estimates, and final grant application drafting to seek funding for the replacement of the Woodchuck Hill Road Bridge. Eligible applicants include onshore US organizations licensed to practice in New York State. Proposals must include a title page, letter of transmittal, firm background, cost proposal, proof of insurance, and a statement of New York State licensure. Applicants must submit one electronic PDF proposal by email to [email protected] by October 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., and submit questions via email by October 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The Town Board will evaluate proposals out of 100 maximum points based on criteria such as experience with similar projects and familiarity with federal and state requirements. The contract budget has an all-inclusive maximum price that cannot exceed $8,000.00.
