Scope of work
- Perform legal research and provide advisory opinions as needed
- Represent the Township in federal and state courts and administrative forums
- Review, analyze and advise the Township on applications before it
- Review, draft and approve as to form and sufficiency legal documents, contracts, deeds, ordinances and resolutions
- Attend all meetings of the Mayor and Commissioners and other boards or committees as directed
- Designate a primary attorney to perform all requirements of the Township Attorney position
- Notify the Township of legal, regulatory, or court decision changes impacting the agency
- Provide legal services for labor and employment management, negotiations, and litigation
Minimum qualifications
- Law firms licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey
- Significant experience representing New Jersey Municipalities and/or Public Entities as Municipal Attorney, General Counsel and/or Corporate Counsel
