Long-Term Care Nursing Facility Capacity Service

The South Dakota Department of Health is seeking proposals to provide additional long-term care nursing facility capacity. The agency aims to foster a system of long-term care services and supports in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of older citizens and persons with disabilities. A total of 991 nursing facility beds are currently available for redistribution statewide to meet identified needs. Responding providers must verify in their proposals that their nursing facility is Medicare-certified, Medicaid-certified, or both, or have skilled nursing services available on-site as part of their normal delivery of services. The nursing facilities shall accept residents with complex medical conditions or increased levels of care requiring specialized equipment and/or increased staff resources. To the extent possible, facilities will dedicate awarded beds to meet identified special care needs in their respective communities. Proposals are due no later than June 30, 2027, at 5:00 PM CST. Proposals will be evaluated upon submission and in the order in which they are received. Eligibility is limited to Onshore (USA Organization Only) entities. The performance of the work will be offsite. The agency is looking for proposals and has not specified a budget.
