Security Guard Services

The City of Huntington, WV requires a vendor to provide security guard services for a one-year contract period. The buyer requires a minimum of two armed guards equipped with firearms and tasers or conducted energy devices. Guards must work a staggered schedule Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding City holidays, for fifty-two weeks per year and at additional times as required by the City. Duties include placing one guard in the main 1st floor hallway near the public entrance, conducting interior and exterior walkthroughs, assisting staff during emergencies, and performing security sweeps 30 minutes before opening and 30 minutes after closing. Guards must take separate breaks to ensure continuous coverage, and they must possess experience or training in operating walkthrough and handheld metal detectors. The vendor must supply all necessary clothing and equipment, including seasonal outer garments, flashlights, safety shoes, reflective vests, 2-way radios, and cell phones. Eligible vendors must perform the work onshore within the USA, and performance will occur onsite. The buyer requests proposals for the budget and sets the question submission deadline for September 30, 2026.
