Advanced Metering Infrastructure Installation Services

The City of Solvang seeks qualified, experienced, and financially responsible USA-based organizations to provide a turnkey Advanced Metering Infrastructure system for its water utility under a one-year, performance-based Design-Build contract. The requested scope includes system design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, training, and ongoing support. The contractor must design and install a complete fixed communication network—including Data Collector Units, backhaul communications, and network management systems—maximizing the reuse of existing meters with AMI endpoints while supporting billing system integration, leak detection, and future utility management expansions. Proposers must submit sealed proposals digitally via email or online, or directly to City Hall, attention Jose Acosta, before 2:00 p.m. on November 17, 2026. A City review committee will evaluate submitted proposals to select the most qualified contractor providing the best overall value and long-term benefit. Applicants are looking to provide a proposed budget for the project.
