RFI for Internet and Managed IT Services

The City of Abilene, Kansas is issuing this Request for Information for planning and market-research purposes to evaluate its future internet connectivity and managed IT service needs. The buyer needs information on available broadband, fiber, redundancy, managed IT models, cybersecurity capabilities, service levels, equipment ownership, transition requirements, and pricing structures ahead of its current provider agreements expiring on April 24, 2027. This submission is for market research only and will not directly result in a contract award. Eligible respondents include USA-based organizations with performance occurring both onsite in Abilene and offsite. Interested parties must submit responses electronically to [email protected] no later than October 30, 2026. Questions regarding the RFI should also be sent in writing to the same email address. The City is not requesting binding price proposals or evaluating bids at this time, but it anticipates issuing formal Requests for Proposals with submissions due in early December 2026.
