RFI for Open Educational Resources for Civics and Comparative Government Education Service

The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) seeks information regarding freely available open educational resources (OER) for secondary students to support civics and comparative government education under Alaska Senate Bill 23. Eligible respondents include USA-based organizations, publishers, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, content developers, and other entities that provide OER. Submitted materials must align with the 2024 Alaska Social Studies Standards, fit an open license definition allowing no-cost access and reuse, and address 14 specified statutory instructional topics. Interested parties must submit written responses by email to Procurement Officer Kathy Blomquist at [email protected] by November 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM AKST. All inquiries must be submitted in writing to the procurement officer. DEED will rate materials using an attached Civics OER Rubric to select resources for a statewide website list, but this request for information does not constitute a procurement solicitation or obligate the State of Alaska to purchase goods or services.
