Pharmacy Emergent First Fill Prescription Services

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a vendor to provide pharmacy emergent first fill and emergency pharmaceutical benefits management products and services to beneficiaries in the Veterans Integrated Service Network 8. The agency needs to solve the challenge of providing continuous, twenty-four-hour coverage for veteran beneficiaries within this network and the Southeastern States Network Consortium during off-hours. The project covers services managed by the Clinical Contact Center, which operates twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days per year, including all eleven federal holidays. The scope of work requires the vendor to establish an after-hours point of contact and phone number for emergencies and non-formulary approvals for emergent prescriptions. The selected provider must also deliver an emergent enrollment process to assist patients, agency staff, and contract pharmacies on a continuous, year-round basis. All performance of the work will occur offsite from the government authority located in Tampa, Florida. The agency has set aside this procurement opportunity entirely for small businesses. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is currently looking for proposals and has not disclosed a specific budget.
