Scuba Diving Medical Evaluation Services

The government authority located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is seeking a vendor to provide scuba diving medical evaluation services. The agency needs these medical evaluations to assess both current and prospective dive team members. The primary goal is to ensure all divers are medically fit for duty through specialized physical and diagnostic testing. The scope of work requires a complete physical examination with a specific emphasis on neurological and ontological components. The selected provider must conduct pulmonary function tests, two-view chest X-rays, audiograms, complete vision acuity tests, and Hardy-Rand-Rittler color vision testing. Additionally, the agency requires drug screening and an assessment of coronary artery disease using a multiple risk factor assessment that includes age, lipid profile, blood pressure, diabetic screening, and smoking history. Eligible providers must be United States organizations and must possess documented familiarity with diving medicine. The performance of the contract work can take place either onsite or offsite. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish a contract period that will run for three years.
