Scope of work
- Provide accounting, budgetary, financial and tax guidance
- Inspect financial transactions and records to ensure regulations and procedures are observed
- Advise on legislative changes requiring record changes
- Provide staff to assist the Finance Division and Police Department with reconciling checking accounts and preparing statements
- Review and record expense invoices, maintain general ledger and books of account, and prepare checks
- Maintain financial records to comply with grant funding and state recordkeeping requirements and assist with the annual budget and auditor
- Analyze PILOT agreements, annual service charge comparisons, and oversee fiscal administration of tax abated/exempt projects
- Maintain an ongoing revenue reporting system relating to tax abated/exempt properties
Minimum qualifications
- Valid Certified Public Accountants license issued by State of New Jersey
- Valid Registered Municipal Accountants license issued by State of New Jersey
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in providing auditing services to municipalities
- Assigned senior staff members must have at least ten (10) years of experience in providing audit services
- Maintain a current principal office within the State of New Jersey
