Calhoun County Request for Proposals for Jail Food Services

Calhoun County is issuing a Request for Proposal for a contractor to provide comprehensive jail food services for the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office in Marshall, Michigan. The selected vendor must furnish all labor, food products, materials, and supplies to deliver complete daily meal services seven days per week, three times per day, for approximately 580 inmates and 40 to 60 staff members, as well as occasional guest meals. The scope requires providing 2,500 to 3,000 calories and at least 80 grams of protein daily, submitting 28-day adult and juvenile menus certified by a registered dietician, and avoiding pork entrées on the regular menu. To be eligible, proposers must be US organizations registered on Bidnet Direct under commodity service code #958 or #95844 and include current insurance certificates with their submission. Proposals are due by Monday, November 16, 2026, via Bidnet Direct, with all questions due no later than November 9, 2026. The contract term is five years, and the pricing per meal must remain firm for the first year, after which annual price adjustments based on the Consumer Price Index may be requested.
