Special Education Services

The City of Schertz, Texas, requires comprehensive special education services to support its student population. The agency is seeking to eliminate or reduce impairments that interfere with students' ability to derive full benefit from their educational programs. To achieve this, the selected provider must deliver appropriate individual and group therapy consistent with speech and language goals contained within each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The scope of work covers a wide range of specialized educational, therapeutic, and medical services. The agency requires speech language pathologist (SLP) services, speech language pathologist assistant (SLP-A) services, and bilingual options for both of these roles. Additionally, the project encompasses physical therapy (PT), physical therapy assistant (PTA), occupational therapy (OT), and occupational therapy assistant (OTA) services. The selected provider must also deliver skilled nursing services at assigned student campuses as directed. Other required personnel include Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSP), educational diagnosticians, and specialists for the visually impaired. Personnel must consult with parents concerning the educational needs of students and provide interpretation of assessment data. Only United States organizations are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency allows the performance of the work to occur either onsite or offsite depending on the specific service requirements. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget and has not disclosed a specific funding limit or key procurement dates in the initial solicitation.
