Town Attorney Services

The Town of Harrison requires professional legal services as Town Attorney for the contract period of January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027. The selected vendor will provide all necessary legal services, including defending tax appeals filed by town taxpayers, with compensation structured on an hourly rate basis. Eligibility is limited to onshore US organizations registered with the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. Assigned individual attorneys must have a minimum of 20 years of documented experience in specific public finance and redevelopment matters, and the vendor must maintain at least $1,000,000 in professional liability insurance. Applicants must submit one original and one electronic copy on a flash drive in a sealed envelope to the Town Clerk by December 3, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Submissions must be on company letterhead with a truthfulness certification and include the eight required standardized forms. The town will evaluate proposals based on experience, reputation, staff adequacy, town knowledge, availability for meetings, compensation proposals, and overall best interest factors.
