Rochester Art Center Art4Trails Temporary Outdoor Public Art Installations

Rochester Art Center seeks proposals for three temporary outdoor, site-specific art installations along trails near downtown Rochester under the Art4Trails program. Artists 18 years of age or older living in Minnesota and neighboring states may apply individually or collaboratively, though students under 18 may participate with a teacher or guardian sponsor. Artists who currently have sculptures installed on the trail are ineligible. Applicants must submit proposals by November 15, 2026, at 11:45 pm, including artist information, a resume, a project proposal with budget outline, and up to five images or renderings. The selection committee evaluates proposals based on artistic merit, feasibility, and artist ability to successfully complete the project. Each selected artist receives a $3,000 award, distributed in two $1,500 disbursements. Artists must install works between June 1 and June 20, 2027, for a display duration ranging from three months to one year.
