Medical Examiner Services

The City of Abilene, Texas, requires medical examiner services to administer pre-employment physical examinations for entry-level and lateral police officer candidates, as well as fitness-for-duty evaluations for current employees. The selected vendor must deliver offsite, timely services aligned with city recruitment, hiring, and operational timelines. Eligibility is limited to onshore USA organizations. Applicants must submit hard-copy proposal responses that include an executive summary, business history, work plan, fee breakdown, staffing resumes, two sample reports, three governmental references, a cost schedule with payment terms, a signed Certificate of Compliance, an Authorization to Bind form, and proof of at least $500,000 per occurrence in professional liability insurance. Proposals are due by November 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., and the city is currently seeking proposals to determine the budget.
