Design and Painting Services for the Cruse Ave Recycle Bin Mural Project

The City of Helena seeks original designs from artists to prime, paint, and seal one recycle bin on Cruse Ave. The project spans three phases, starting with selecting an artist's design from this call for art, followed by executing an agreement and completing the painting offsite in Spring 2027. Artists must supply their own paint and materials to cover the exterior visible walls using the provided template. The competition is open to artists of all ages and teams who reside in the Helena area, as well as USA organizations. Applicants may submit proposals digitally via email or using a flash drive by postal mail or in person. Submissions are due by January 12, 2027, at 9:00 AM MST. The selected artist or team will receive $1,200 in compensation, and proposals are evaluated based on artistic merit, concept appropriateness, visual effectiveness from a distance, graffiti minimization, and overall impression.
