City of Akron Real Property Purchase and Redevelopment Services

The City of Akron Department of Economic Development is soliciting proposals from qualified developers for the purchase and redevelopment of real property located at 1730 S Main Street. The scope requires the successful respondent to purchase the land as-is, perform development and improvements, provide immediate management, and operate an active, community-facing operation. The project must start within 90 days of execution. Only USA organizations incorporated in a state within the United States with documented redevelopment experience and good financial standing are eligible to bid. Applicants must not be delinquent in real estate tax payments. Proposals are evaluated based on community impact, purchase price, developer experience, and compliance with RFP guidance. Applicants must submit proposals digitally via email or physically by 4:00 p.m. EST on December 1, 2026, labeled 1730 S Main RFP.
