Community Policy Research Projects Service

The Public Policy Institute at Charleston School of Law seeks proposals from community partners for policy issues that law students will research and analyze offsite. Selected partners receive pro bono student work, which includes legal and policy research, data and regulatory framework analysis, development of evidence-based policy recommendations, and a written report and oral presentation. Eligible entities include USA-based nonprofits, trade associations, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, community advocacy groups, and other entities engaged in public service. Bidders must email proposals to Director Jennifer Wilkins at [email protected] by 5:00 pm on November 6, 2026. Evaluators rate proposals on the relevance and importance of the policy issue, feasibility for student research, potential impact, and proposal clarity and completeness. Each project lasts for a single 16-week semester.
